Maybe — good lord, is he honestly considering this? — getting out during the Dark Hour, slithering up a couple of floors in the tower would not only help him continue to hone his skills as a fighter but also help the acclimation period he'll end up needing for this. To reacquaint himself with the way his body works, smooth out all the kinks ( … ha ) that might end up being speedbumps later on down the line before they become real concerns. The thought of lifting weights with the end of his tail would mean something along the lines of it being prehensile, or some measure of such, and it's still so new that he. Hasn't quite managed to make up his mind on whether or not that's at all possible.

It doesn't keep him from cutting the other a Look, though. "I've never seen a snake with any kind of weights," he finally concedes, though it's with a small laugh that barely counts for as much. "Maybe I'll be the first." Wouldn't that be something? Of course he isn't going to stop training, and of course he isn't going to let this sort of setback slow him down more than he has to — because so far, his life has been nothing but a constant barrage of hurdles, and he's managed to come this far without falling too far behind, and. He isn't about to let something like this be what gets him down permanently.

Another small stretch, and Akihiko pulls himself up a little bit further with the extended hand, almost to what his full height would have been were he standing on feet instead of balancing on curled muscle and tendon and vertebra. "I think it feels fine," he gives offhand, feeling a bit more like himself ( and with the two of them feeling a bit more like them ) as he takes it upon himself to slither right on past Shinji out the door and into the hall. It feels good, really, to stretch out like this, even if the movement robs him of the warmth he'd gathered by remaining as more coil than person. He scoffs, though, at that last comment. "And show off your pasty legs? Hm … could be a good look for you."

Two can play that game, bro. Did you think he wouldn't?
