"Hey, fuck off," It's an well-intentioned, if exasperated snipe as he shoves roughly at Akihiko's shoulder- time to see how your lack of legs deals with that, now, isn't it. But he doesn't pause to watch whether the other man sways and tips or holds fast, doesn't see that flash of colour heating up the other boy's cheeks, even if only faintly. Instead he's walking out to the low edge of the rooftop to better watch the city mill about and unfold.
(and to better just... not look at Aki and acknowledge the fact that it's probably just himself being weird about this. Even now, unconsciously pulling back.)
"And sure it does. It gets me the satisfaction that I'm at least better than you at something." A weak retort, maybe a bit too self-depreciating, but it's all he's got after feeling a bit self-conscious about that weird compliment he just gave his friend-turned-snake-man.
"So the sun feeling any better, or's it still too cold out?" When in doubt, just change the damn subject.
